Firearms Licensing

The National Firearms Licensing Management System (NFLMS) is a register of all persons who have applied for, or have been granted, a certificate for a fiream or shotgun.

The Firearms Licensing system provides a method for managing the licensing of firearms, shotguns and explosives. It records all individuals, companies and dealers that apply for certificates.

It will update the Police National Computer with details of individuals who own firearms and / or shotguns. In addition recording details of anyone who has been refused a certificate or had one revoked.

Who uses it?

  • All police forces in England and Wales use NFLMS
