Members of the HPDS 2002-2006 intakes
Members of the original HPD Scheme will continue to receive full benefits including promotion, access to leadership programmes, regional events and HPDS Development Adviser support until 31 March 2010. Constables and Sergeants who joined the original HPD Scheme recently will have the opportunity to continue on the Scheme until 31 March 2012. This will give Scheme members the opportunity to complete academic courses and undertake development opportunities. These timescales will be applied flexibly according to individual requirements. Forces will be able to use the time between now and March 2010 to review their own systems of professional and personal development to ensure officers on the existing HPDS have career support, now and in the future. The process for existing Scheme members to apply for sponsorship concluded during Summer 2008. No further applications will be considered as part of this process. HPDS Development Advisers are continuing to offer support to all existing Scheme members, HPDS Force contacts and Force ACPO Leads. For more information on the scheme please see the manual of guidance. This policy document outlines the scheme in more detail and provides information on the close of the scheme. These modules are for existing scheme members who are yet to complete all the relevant leadership programmes.
