Officers who were Constables and Sergeants at 1st April 2008 will have the opportunity to continue on the Scheme until 31 March 2012. This will give them the opportunity to complete academic courses and undertake development opportunities. These timescales will be applied flexibly according to individual requirements. Forces will be able to use this time to review their own systems of professional and personal development to ensure officers on the existing HPDS have career support, now and in the future. HPDS development advisers are continuing to offer support to all existing scheme members, HPDS Force contacts and Force ACPO Leads. This document outlines the scheme in more detail and provides information on the close of the scheme.
