Overview

Seven inter-related blended-learning diversity modules that enable members of the extended policing family to meet the requirements of the Strategy for Improving Performance in Race and Diversity 2004-2009.

This programme links National Occupational Standards with the PDR process, and benefits from the NCALT Managed Learning Environment.

Aims

  • To be able to evidence this competency through the PDR process
For Supervisors:

Objectives

  • Familiarity with diversity legislation; covering disability, race, gender, sexual orientation, age and religion & belief
  • An understanding of how issues of diversity (focused in one area or cross-cutting multiple areas) impact policing matters
  • A raised awareness of how to personally adapt to situations impacted by diversity issues
