Blended resources including: Classroom / E-Learning / Workbased / Self Study / Presentations / Project Work / Knowledge Checks.
Workbased assessment - assessment of knowledge, and overall competence by assessor linked to Skills For Justice National Occupational Standards (NOS) and assessment strategy.

Additional Information

The IL4SC is the naional programme for Special Constables designed to take them to the point of safe and lawful accompanied patrol.  The IL4SC is derived from the appropriate learning outcomes of the IPLDP (Police Constables Learning Programme).

Following completion of IL4SC, Special Constables should undertake CPD (Continuous Professional Development) using the remainder of the IPLDP learning and assessment to move them on to Independent Patrol and qualification to use their full range of powers.

Overview


This programme derives from the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP).  It utilises common learning outcomes where appropriate and takes SCs to the point of safe and lawful accompanied patrol.

Aims


To provide Special Constables with the appropriate knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours to perform limited duties under the supervision of fully trained and qualified PCs or SCs.
