Time flies, we have just completed the 4th week of the program. It was with a sigh of relief when all of us handed in our 1st paper for the program i.e. Community Policing. Most felt that it was a tougher paper to write as compared to the second paper on Strategic Review as the level of understanding and implementation for community policing varies between countries. Very quickly, after submission of the 1st paper, the class is all geared up to work on the 2nd paper. Other then a short morning session on 'Strategic Management' on Monday, the rest of the week was dedicated to the topic on 'Major Incident Investigation'. The topic was conducted by Det. Superintendant Sheila Thornes, Det. Insp. Alison Fossey and Det.Sgt. Mark Nash from West Mercia Police. Theories and practical were woven into the 4 day sessions, using an actual double murder they had solved in year 2006. The sessions were interactive and provided participants with a range of skills, tools, techniques and technology available for managing a complex investigation. Fanny Koh
