NPIA is a recognised Investors in People (IiP) organisation. During December 2008, the External Managing Assessor along with the Internal Review Team conducted the formal review and concluded that the NPIA was meeting the IiP standard. IiP provides a flexible framework, which any organisation can adapt for its own requirements. It mirrors the business planning cycle (plan, do, review) making it clear for organisations to follow and implement their own planning cycle. NPIA recognise that its people are its greatest asset, and knows that success is dependent on everyone performing well. To achieve this, people need the right knowledge, skills and motivation to work efficiently. The IiP standard provides a framework to ensure that we achieve this. Peter Neyroud said "I would like to thank all of those of you who took part in the process, either as internal reviewers or as interviewees, and all of you - managers and staff - who have played a part in making sure that we achieve the standard. It is an important benchmark of how far we have come and I am delighted that we have achieved it and delighted that it demonstrates the progress we have made, but equally clear of the commitment of myself and the Chief Officer team, that this is merely a benchmark on a journey, not an end game."
