The third all female International Commanders' programme is underway at Bramshill

International snow

The start of the course coincided with the recent bad weather in the south of England

February saw the start of the women's International Commanders' Programme. It was perfect timing as the programme opened to our heaviest snowfall in years. However  this did not deter the students, many of whom had never seen snow before!

And you couldn't choose a better setting than Bramshill for some traditional winter photos. In fact, the programme team hadn't seen the like of the snow before either, and during the first few days our resilience was tested to the limit.

Image of the ICP in the SnowThe beautiful scenes soon failed to thrill as students endured the shock of moving from tropical climes to trekking about the Bramshill site in sub-zero temperatures. This was particularly so for Superintendent Kate Buggy, our visiting tutor from the Australian Federal Police who left Canberra amidst soaring temperatures and bush fires.

Kate says of her introduction to Bramshill "I was thrilled to be here. The sight of the thick snow on the ground in my second week was most unexpected but it just added to the beauty of the place."

Kate is a visiting fellow through the Australian Institute of Police Management in this instance working with the International Commanders' Programme.
