Attendees are required to be fingerprint experts currently conducting analysis, comparison, evaluation & verification of case work and have a current IDENT1 user name.

Overview


A three day workshop to allow fingerprint examiners a greater understanding of palmar surfaces, enabling them to refresh their palm identification skills and update current practices.

Aims


This workshop aims to expand the skill and confidence of the fingerprint examiner in locating, orientating, searching and identifying palmar impressions.

Objectives


Attendees will be able to:

  • Develop existing knowledge regarding the development of palmar friction ridge skin and creases
  • Understand the scientific basis for individuality, persistence and immutability of palmar ridged skin
  • Practice the principles surrounding Qualitative/Quantitative analysis of palmar friction ridge skin
  • Develop skill in locating, orientating and searching palm impressions
  • Understand and demonstrate the underpinning knowledge supporting palmar identification
