Abu Dhabi police are undergoing huge changes to achieve their vision of becoming one of the most professional police forces in the world and are being driven by a 5 year strategic plan. As a police officer in the CID I face many challenges, that mean I have to improve myself to be more effective to go with this challenge, and for that I chose to come to NPIA centre in Bramshill. I discovered this centre has the strongest international development program for commanders, the International Commanders' Programme (ICP), and is where I can achieve my plan to: From the first day in NPIA I found that the people really care and made us feel welcome. I was impressed that the program is designed to provide students with expert instruction on the most current trends, policies and practices in the field. This is not a "one size fits all" programme, but one that provides the variety offered in the course selection to encourage each individual to build a personal programme for the future. In the ICP they give us great insight in the profession with a sense of being dedicated to providing the theoretical, practical and professional knowledge, and sharing experiences with other police officers from different countries and culture needed in today's environment to be successful in the fields of law enforcement. The quality of the faculty and the variety of the course offerings at the ICP can't be beaten. Major / Mohammed Obaid Hamar Ain Al Dhahri
