Overview


This course takes the experienced Crime Scene Manager to the next level, allowing them to develop their skills in managing complex incidents and multiple crime scenes. The course involves participation in a syndicate exercise run over three days, with the development of a forensic strategy.

Aims


To equip Crime Scene Managers with the necessary knowledge to exercise an effective command of complex and multiple crime scenes. To enhance their capacity for the control and co-ordination of scientific support resources, crime scene intelligence, and develop a forensic strategy.

Objectives


At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the differences between the role of manager and co-ordinator
  • Co-ordinate all aspects of a multiple scene major enquiry
  • Facilitate communication between CSMs, SIO and others
  • Formulate forensic strategy with SIO and others (eg. Specialist Advisor)
  • Address all contamination and disclosure issues
  • Address all relevant Health and Safety issues.
