Overview

The overall aim of the core Senior Leadership Programme is to provide a structured leadership development programme, delivering career critical professional, executive and business policing skills, to enable high performing senior leaders of the 21st century.

Prior to commencing the four 'career critical' modules within the Senior Leadership Programme, delegates are required to complete the Induction, EDHR in Action and Finance modules.

Aims

This module aims to provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of the principles of effective and prudent business management including the effective use of resources.

Objectives

By the end of this module delegates will be able to:

  • Develop effective and innovative workforce strategies, managing performance requirements, equality, diversity and human rights, and deploy finite resources to meet strategic and operational demands
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively analyse, review and develop a range of financial and resourcing options against a complex background of performance and other delivery demands
  • Critically assess, challenge and invest in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Science and Technology as key components of business change and performance
  • Use marketing and communications as a tool for effective business development and as an enabler of community interaction
  • Apply change management principles to lead in a complex planning, programme and project framework
