Aims

The material handover provides a run through of the Specials Protocols that must be adhered to, by Force and the NPIA, to ensure successful completion of a Specials Recruit Assessment Process.

The event will offer guidance and considerations on how forces run the process, with some suggestions on practice and examples of potential methods forces can use.

It is also the point at which force contacts will be able to familiarise themselves with the materials necessary for the different assessment roles, and how these should be prepared. The 10 packs will be left with the Assessment Process Manager at the end of the event.

Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand and apply the Protocols for the Specials Recruit Assessment Process
  • Consider the flexibility within the delivery of the process and apply it to forces own requirements, using the Manual of Guidance
  • Familiarisation with the equipment lists provided for each pack of materials ensuring familiarisation with elements that need replenished following the completion of an assessment process
  • Understand how the DVDS provided for training should be used, and how this impacts on delivering the assessment
  • Use the CD Rom / POLKA system to reprint documents when needed, and understand which items can be replaced by the NPIA Recruit Team
