Overview


This is a five day course designed to prepare the delegate to manage the investigation into the identification and repatriation of victims of mass fatality incidents.

Practitioners from the disciplines within this portfolio deliver practical and theoretical sessions with ongoing case study workshops.

Aims


To develop the knowledge and skills of Senior Investigating Officers, enabling them to plan and manage the accurate identification of victims of major/critical incidents.

Objectives


  • To prepare delegates to manage the investigation into the identification and repatriation of victims of mass fatality incidents
  • To appreciate the scale, intensity and importance of the identification enquiry
  • To fomulate a strategy for the accurate identification of the deceased
  • To co-ordinate the various disciplines required to achieve accurate victim identification
  • To appreciate the need to work in liasion with the SIO, HM Coroner and other agencies
  • To be able to identify after the course, the resilience and capability within the delegates home force
