Who Should Attend?

The programme is suitable for chief inspectors, superintendents , chief superintendents and equivalent police staff, and is designed to increase representation within senior management of all minority groups, but in particular women and BME officers and police staff.

Overview

Aims

The overall aim of Moving on! Positive Action Leadership Programme for Senior Leaders is:

  • To increase representation of all minority groups at Chief Officer level in the Police Service by providing delegates with the opportunity,confidence and skills needed to succeed.

Objectives

  • Discuss and identify enablers and blocks to the progression of minority groups within the Police Service.
  • Develop a strategic awareness of the current position of minority groups at senior and chief officer levels in the Police Service and the political drivers for improvement.
  • Explore, in depth, their personal strengths, preferences and skills which can enable their progression and development.
  • Develop personal and professional impact.
  • Discuss the role mentoring and coaching plays in individual success and be able to transfer the learning back to the work place.
  • Develop a sophisticated understanding of their role as leaders, role models and champions and the challenges that this brings personally and organisationally.
  • Stretch, challenge and maximise potential.
  • Develop a personal action plan to assist in their future career and development.
