Who Should Attend?


Those who are about to undertake, or have just embarked upon, the roles of Trainer, Tutor, Instructor or Presenter as defined in the Skills for Justice Role Profiles.

Course / Module entry requirements


Completion of the PTRLDP module: Core Skills and Values

or

Equivalent accredited prior learning / experience.

Completion of the Police Race and Diversity Learning and Development Programme Diversity and the Police e-learning.

Please note module dates are released on a six-month rolling basis.  The dates and venues, below, will be updated accordingly.

NPIA is also committed to facilitating local delivery of PTRLDP modules.

This module builds from the Core Skills and Values module and considers practical strategies and techniques to promote learning.

Aims


  • To introduce learners to the principles and practices of managing the group learning environment.

  • To introduce learners to the theory and practice of community involvement in the learning environment.

Objectives


This module enables learners to:

  • Develop strategies for effective communication with learners, including feedback techniques.
  • Understand the group learning environment, including delivery and management of group learning.
  • Understand and deal with problematic attitudes and behaviour within the learning environment.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate community involvement in the learning environment.
