Who Should Attend?


Those who are about to undertake, or have just embarked upon, the role of Tutor as defined in the Skills for Justice Role Profiles.

Course / Module entry requirements


Please note: in order to attend this module candidates must be occupationally competent in the area they wish to access.

Candidates must also have completed the Police Race and Diversity Learning and Development Programme Diversity and the Police e-learning.

Overview


This module is concerned with the theory and practice of assessing learning.

Aims


To introduce students to the principles, processes and stages of assessment in the workplace.

Objectives


This module will enable learners to:

  • Understand the principles underpinning effective assessment in the workplace.
  • Develop and agree appropriate assessment plans with candidates, evaluate work-related evidence and make valid assessment decisions.
  • Understand how to provide support for candidates through the assessment process.
  • Understand quality assurance processes in relation to assessment.
