Neighbourhood Policing coprises self-directed learning to be completed at a place to suit to the learner and in line with a supported individual development plan. It is anticipated that it will take approx. 2 months to complete the entire module.

Cost to HO Forces

There is no direct charge for participants from licensed funded forces.

Cost to non HO Forces

Non-Home Office funded and other forces/organisations will be charged as laid out in the licensing agreement on a force-by-force basis.

Overview

Neighbourhood Policing is about the leadership skills and knowledge needed for neighbourhood policing teams.

Aims

This module will help delegates to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities required for their role in a neighbourhood team, and supports the basic themes of neighbourhood poicing:

  • Dedicated neighbourhood teams which are visible, accessible, skilled, knowledgeable and familiar to the community
  • Intelligence-led identification of community priorities
  • Collaborative Problem-solving with the community and other local partners.

Objectives

Neighbourhood Policing consists of a DVD, e-learning and seven workbooks that focus on the generic skills required of a neighbourhood policing team member to support the key themes of community engagement, identifying community priorities and collaborative problem solving.

The module expands the work-based, blended learning approach and uses a DVD to introduce the concept of Neighbourhood Policing and the format of the Module.

The e-learning is in two sections. The first analyses the individuals learning requirement in relation to other CLDP modules, and the second section supports the application of Anti Social Behavior (ASB) legislation.

The seven workbooks comprise:
