Senior Leadership Programme

This programme is designed for the development of Superintendents in their current role, and for those aspiring for promotion to Chief Superintendent and ACPO, addressing modern challenges faced by today's senior officers.

Update

A one-off Senior Leadership Programme consolidation module is being held on 15-19 November 2010.

Running as a module, this pilot is designed to consolidate the knowledge and skills of those superintendents and police staff equivalents who have previously completed the Senior Leadership Development Programme executive level (SLDP2) modules to bring them in line with the revised learning programme.

Overview

The Senior Leadership Programme is linked to the foundation course for Chief Inspectors and the Independent Command Course for Chief Superintendents.

The programme is divided into a number of modules, commencing with Finance for Non-Finance Managers and Equality, Diversity and Human Rights in Action. These modules provide a gateway to the full programme and must be successfully completed.

On completion of the gateway modules candidates will work towards completion of the following:

The programme has been designed to run over 2 years. Each module is run over a period of one week and will be delivered from an NPIA site. This programme is linked to the other leadership programmes delivered by the National College of Police Leadership.
