During the year 2009-10 the Trainer Development Department are offering the following recently developed products:
- VRQ Assessors' Upskill Workshop (2 days) for those wishing to become assessors for the new NPIA VRQ Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS and CTLLS).
- Advanced Facilitation in Practice, for qualified trainers wishing to enhance their range of delivery skills (this 2 day module is a pre-requisite for the following module).
- Diversity in Learning and Development (5 days) for qualified trainers who wish to more effectively embed equality and diversity in their training practice (attendance on the Advanced Facilitation in Practice module is a pre-requisite to attend this module).
Trainer Development is also developing new products and resources associated with the Police Training Roles Learning and Development Programme. These include the following:
- A new Personal Safety Trainer Training programme has been designed and developed and is currently being piloted through local force delivery.
- Relevant PTRLDP materials are to be placed on the NCALT Managed Learning Environment to enhance access for delegates.
- A new module on 'Supporting E-Learning' is currently in development; a learning descriptor has been agreed and a design solution is in production.
We have developed a wider range of delivery options for PTRLDP in addition to delivery at NPIA sites. All three local delivery options (NPIA delivery; partnership delivery and delivery by force trainers) have been completed successfully by forces across England and Wales.
