Tackling International Organised Crime Course

Tackling International Organised Crime Programme - New for 2010

The International Academy Bramshill is pleased to launch a new course which starts in January 2010.  The Tacking International Organised Crime programme is based on the highly successful Chevening Fellowship programme which was delivered at Bramshill from 2006 to 2009. 

The aim of the programme is to provide participants with an understanding of the nature and impact of international organised crime at all levels and the steps that that can be developed to prevent, minimise and investigate it.

The programme is aimed at mid-career professionals in positions of leadership and influence, or are in line for such positions and who are active in the field of tackling international organised crime.

The programme is full time and runs for 8 weeks from 25 January - 19 March 2010.

Course aims

  • Identify international organised crime, the differences from local and volume crime and the consequences of this for strategies, structures, policies and partnerships.
  • Investigate the nature of particular international organised crime activity.
  • Examine corruption and money laundering and the international and national measures to counteract these activities.
  • Recognise the impact of globalisation and the impact of international organised crime on local communities.
  • Examine and consider the need to balance the impact responding to Organised Crime with Human Rights.
  • Examine the roles of international agencies Identify the role of strategy and construction of effective strategy.

The cost of the programme is £15,500 and will include meals and accommodation.

Students must be fluent in English.
