In doing this we seek to learn, share information and adopt good practice that can be used in the development of doctrine, new training and assist in the delivery of similar police operations across the UK

We are available to assist forces in all planning matters and will provide:

• on site operational guidance and advice
• written guidance and support
• telephone guidance and advice via the Specialist Operations Centre 
• debriefing services in order to maximise on lessons learnt.

We aim to produce an operational planning manual and introduce consistency across the UK in relation to the planning of major events, to include:

• events of national significance
• events that have a force-wide impact
• events with unique operational features
• general events which forces may police throughout the country

We also provide a full and comprehensive debriefing process for operations and events that may include:

• murder investigations
• public disorder
• public Order 
• sieges
• missing persons investigations
• major sporting events
• state visits
• multi-agency operations or events of a similar nature
• operations that have a significant impact upon an organisation
